Certificates and extracts: Extract from the central register of birth

Birth and citizenship are proved by the extract from the central register of birth of the citizen.

In the central register of births, all births of Slovenian citizens in the Republic of Slovenia or abroad and all births of foreign citizens in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia are entered.

You can claim an extract of birth for yourself or for another person who has authorised you by a written statement. If you claim the extract of birth for your minor child who has not reached the age of 18 as yet, a written authorisation is not required.


The extract contains:

· personal name;

· date and place of birth;

· unique personal identification number;

· sex;

· citizenship;

· data on parents.
