Employment and work of the citizens of the EU Member States, EEA and Swiss Confederation in the Slovenian labour market.
Free access to the labour market allows employment, self-employment or work without a work permit. Free movement of persons, in addition to the free movement of goods, capital and services, is one of the fundamental freedoms of the internal market of the European Union.
The right of free access to the Slovenian labour market is held by:
- citizens of the Member States of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and the Swiss Confederation;
- family members of the citizens of the EU Member States, EEA and Swiss Confederation who do not have one of these citizenships, but have a temporary residence permit for a family member or a long-stay visa as an evidence of your right to free access to the labour market.
Family members of a citizen of the EU Member States, EEA or the Swiss Confederation according to the law are the persons to whom a residence permit in the Republic of Slovenia or a long-stay visa is issued due to family reunification.
