Aktivnost: Enrolment in short-cycle higher education colleges
Short-Cycle Higher Education study programmes are highly practice-oriented programmes and prepare graduates for immediate work in a company.
After acquiring secondary education, candidates may continue to study at two-year Short-Cycle Higher Education Colleges.
Candidates may enrol in a Short-Cycle Higher Education Colleges if they have passed:
- the general or vocational matura (or final examination or diploma before the introduction of the vocational matura) in a gimnazija (general upper secondary school) programme;
- general or vocational matura in any secondary vocational education programme (including vocational-technical education: i.e. the "3+2" system); or
- a vocational course.
Candidates who have passed the master craftsman exam, foreman exam or shop manager exam may also be admitted to a higher vocational college if they have:
- three years of work experience; and
- have passed a test in Slovenian language and literature and mathematics or a foreign language to the extent and in the manner laid down for the vocational matura.
To enrol in full-time or part-time study at a Short-Cycle Higher Education Colleges, candidates can apply within the two admission deadlines set out in the call for enrolment.
Short-Cycle Higher Education Colleges will rank candidates for admission to the programme in the order which they indicated on their enrolment admission forms. Priority is given to candidates who have indicated their study programme first on their admission form. If enrolment places remain unfilled, the candidates who have indicated their study programme in second place will be shortlisted, followed by the candidates who have indicated their programme of study in third place on the admission form.
