Change of residence, residence registration: Registration of temporary departure abroad
Departure abroad lasting more than 3 months must be registered.
An individual with permanent residence in the Republic of Slovenia who intends to temporarily leave the territory of the Republic of Slovenia for more than three months, for example, due to work or study, must register the temporary departure abroad at any administrative unit or local office in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia. Citizens of the Republic of Slovenia who have registered temporary departure abroad are defined as migrants.
An individual intending to leave the territory of the Republic of Slovenia for more than three months must register the departure at the administrative unit before the departure.
The registration of the departure of an individual may be carried out by a third person with his/her authorisation.
In the process of registration of temporary departure from the territory of the Republic of Slovenia, the administrative unit issues a certificate of registration of temporary departure from the territory of the Republic of Slovenia.
Upon the registration of temporary departure abroad, the individual selects the address for service in the Republic of Slovenia.
Within eight days after the return to Slovenia, the individual must report the arrival to the administrative unit.
