Change of residence, residence registration: Change of address for service
Specify the address for receiving official mail and mail from individuals and companies (natural and legal persons) that can obtain your address for service.
An address for service is the address of the registered permanent or temporary residence of a person in the Republic of Slovenia intended for the service of postal deliveries of state authorities, self-governing local community authorities, and legal and natural persons, unless otherwise provided by another Act.
A person may have only one address for service, i.e. the address of their registered permanent or temporary residence in the Republic of Slovenia. If a person has only permanent or only temporary residence, this address is deemed to be the address for service.
If you do not designate the address yourself, it will be designated by the following criteria:
- if you have only a permanent residence registered in Slovenia, this is the address for service;
- if you have registered permanent and temporary residence in Slovenia and you do not designate the address for service, the permanent residence address is deemed to be the address for service;
- if the temporary residence where a person had the address for service ceases, the address of their permanent residence is deemed to be the address for service;
- if the permanent residence where a person had the address for service ceases due to their permanent relocation abroad, the address of their temporary residence is deemed to be the address for service;
- if a person has registered temporary residence in a prison, correctional facility, residential treatment institution, special education institution or their departments at a separate location, this address is deemed to be the address for service;
- if a child has temporary residence registered with foster carers, they will have their service address at their permanent residence address, while at the address of their temporary residence with the foster carers only if the child's parents or another statutory representative agree thereto or if legal residence was designated for them.
If you are registering a permanent or temporary residence and, at the same time, the address you are registering is chosen as the address for service, the designation is made together with the registration of residence.
If you are only changing the address for service from your permanent to temporary residence address or vice versa, you can make the change at any administrative unit.
