Certificates and extracts: Extract from the Register of Marriages

Marriage is proved by an extract from the Register of Marriages.

You can apply for a marriage certificate for yourself or for another person who has authorized you by means of a declaration of written consent.

The extract shall include the following data:

  • the date and place of marriage,
  • the personal names, the personal identification number (PIN) and the place of birth of both spouses,
  • the surnames of both partners after marriage,
  • a note on the termination of marriage as a result of divorce, annulment or death.

Application for an extract from the Register of Marriages

An extract can be issued on a domestic form for use in Slovenia or on a multilingual international form for use abroad.
