Aktivnost: Issuance of certificates in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC

The Ministry of Health issues certificates in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC for professional qualifications obtained in Slovenia.
This Directive specifies the rules according to which a Member State that makes access to or the pursuit of regulated professions on its territory subject to specific professional qualifications recognizes professional qualifications obtained in one or more Member States that allow the holder of those qualifications to pursue the same profession there as a sufficient condition for access to and pursuit of that profession.

This Directive specifies the rules under which a Member State which makes access to or the pursuit of regulated professions on its territory contingent upon specific professional qualifications shall recognize professional qualifications obtained in one or more Member States which allow the holder of those qualifications to pursue the same profession there as a sufficient condition for access to and pursuit of that profession.

Certification according to Directive 2005/36/EC for professional qualifications obtained in Slovenia

You can apply to the Ministry of Health for a certificate of conformity.
Possible manners of submission:
  • electronic
  • by mail
  • personally

Certificate of conformity of professional qualifications (for sectoral professions: doctor, specialist doctor, dentist, specialist dentist, registered nurse, registered midwife, and master of pharmacy)
To obtain a certificate of conformity, the following must be sent to the Ministry of Health:

• a completed application form,

• a photocopy of your diploma,

• a photocopy of your professional examination certificate,

• a certificate of specialization.


Certificate of conformity of professional qualifications (for non-sectoral professions - all other regulated professions)

To obtain a certificate of professional qualification, the following must be sent to the Ministry of Health:

• a completed application form,

• a photocopy of your final exam certificate/high school diploma/photocopy of your diploma,

• a photocopy of your professional exam certificate,

• a certificate of completed specialization.



If you obtained your qualification in a third country and it has been recognized in the Republic of Slovenia, or if you obtained your qualification in the Republic of Slovenia before 2004, you must enclose a certificate from your employer stating that that you have actually and legally practiced your profession in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia for at least three years in the last five years.
