Agricultural land: Purchase of agricultural land, farm or forest

The purchase of agricultural land is possible only with prior publication of the sale of agricultural land on bulletin boards of administrative units and on the state portal E-Uprava (eGovernment).

A natural or legal individual who enters into a transaction with the owner of property submits an application for the approval of the transaction to the administrative unit in whose territory the real estate or its essential part is located.

The process of purchase of agricultural land, forest or farm:

1. Anyone who wants to buy agricultural land, forest or farm offered for sale must give written notice of the acceptance of the bid. The notice must be sent by registered post to the administrative unit or filed in person at the administrative unit. After the expiry of the acceptance period (15 days), the administrative unit shall notify all offerees and the seller by registered mail with advice of receipt regarding who has accepted the offer within the time limit.

2. Anyone who enters into a transaction with the owner of property submits an application for the approval of the transaction to the administrative unit in whose territory the real estate or its essential part is located. The application shall be filed within thirty days after the deadline for acceptance of the bid. The application must be accompanied by the concluded transaction contract, except in the case of a purchase contract, if this has not yet been concluded in writing.


The administrative unit shall not approve the acquisition of agricultural land, forest or farm:
- if the transaction did not take place according to the procedure and in the manner prescribed by the Agricultural Land Act;
- if the order of priority of pre-emption is not complied with.
