Employment of a worker

In Slovenia, the principle of unity in regulating employment and work of aliens in the Republic of Slovenia applies, which - along with the performance of work on the basis of employment contracts and work contracts - also covers all other specific forms of work performed by aliens, including the cross-border provision of services by foreign companies with posted workers, placement of foreign workers, seasonal work, managerial work, contract services on the basis of a work permit and contract services on the basis of work registration.

Specific conditions applying to the citizens of the EU Member States:

When an individual country opens its labour market for Slovenian citizens, the principle of reciprocity stipulates that all obstacles with regard to the employment of its citizens in the Republic of Slovenia shall be removed. Otherwise (when a Member State establishes a transitional period in relation to the Republic of Slovenia), its citizens are obliged to acquire a work permit and follow the procedure, as is applicable in the case of the employment of aliens in the Republic of Slovenia.
