At the moment blind and visually impaired can browse animated contents
with text descriptions and a possibility of dynamic enlargement of the text
size by using the browser settings. The text size can also be set by a specific
program. You can select between three different text sizes by clicking on one
of the sizes below or any time in the left menu by selecting the
"Text size".
The other option is to select the text size by using your browser options:
1. Users of the Internet Explorer browser:
If you wish to set a larger text size please take the following steps:
- In the menu "View" choose the "Text size" option and choose a
text size you prefer (as shown in the picture);
- If you have a suitable mouse (a mouse with a wheel between the left and
the right button) you can use a shortcut to change the text size. Press the
button "Ctrl" on the keyboard and move the wheel downwards for a larger text
size or upwards for a smaller text size (as shown in the picture).
2. Users of the Netscape browser:
- Users of the Netscape browser can set the text size with the help
of the menu (similarly as it is shown in the first picture) or by
using the shortcut: Press the "Ctrl" button and then the "+" button
for a larger text size or the "-" button for the smaller size of
the text.
What else do we prepare for the users?
In the year 2004 we will provide the option for setting different
color contrasts and typography. Other technical solutions are still
in preparation. We strive to provide programs and service especially
accommodated to the blind and visually impaired as soon as possible.
We have renovated the State Portal in the year 2003,
which was designated to be the European Year of People with
Disabilities by the Council of the European Union. The Government
of the Republic of Slovenia has designated this year to be the
European year of disabled people also in Slovenia. This, too, is a
reason that we strive to design the content and the structure of
the portal in such a manner that it will be as accessible as possible
to all the residents of the Republic of Slovenia as well as to all others
interested in information on Slovenia.
