Entry of citizens of Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia after 19 December 2009

Citizens of Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia will no longer require a visa to cross the Schengen border
Pursuant to the proposal for a Council Regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 539/2001 listing the third countries whose nationals must be in possession of visas when crossing the external borders and those whose nationals are exempt from that requirement, citizens of Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia will no longer require a visa to cross the Schengen border. The amended regulation will enter into force on 19 December 2009. The exemption from visa requirement will apply only to citizens of the above countries holding a valid biometric passport. Citizens of Kosovo issued with passports by the Coordination Directorate (Koordinaciona uprava) in Belgrade, Serbia, will still require a visa.
